MAILROOM DANGER: Fentanyl Powder Can Kill On Contact
Posted on December 13, 2016 by mailomg in Memo 50, Uncategorized // 0 Comments
Mailrooms must be on high-alert about the dangers of fentanyl, a powerful opiod that is deadly in extremely small doses, according to RaySecur, a mail security equipment company based in Canada.
Fentanyl is ordered online and delivered in the mail and it can be fatal to mailroom employees. It is 100 times more powerful than heroin and it is possible to overdose on contact. In fact, touching or inhaling a small amount of fentanyl can be fatal.
Mailroom personnel must not touch even the smallest traces of white powder on suspicious packages. Gloves should be worn while mail is being processed.
In fact, police officers in Canada are carrying the antidote naloxone in the event they come into contact with fentanyl in any way.
