InStyle Magazine, Entertainment Weekly To Cease Publication

Instyle March 2022

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that six former Meredith Corp. magazines will cease print publication. The titles include InStyle, Entertainment Weekly, and Eating Well. The Journal is basing its reporting on a leaked memo from Dotdash Meredith CEO Neil Vogel.

According to the Journal, the memo states 200 jobs will be be cut as the company ends the printing of the magazines. The other titles include Health, Parents, and People en Espanol.

“We have said from the beginning, buying Meredith was about buying brands, not magazines or websites,” Vogel states in the memo. “It is not news to anyone that there has been a pronounced shift in readership and advertising from print to digital, and as a result, for a few important brands, print is no longer serving the brand’s core purpose.”

Dotdash purchased the remaining magazines in the Meredith empire in October 2021.

At one time Meredith Corporation publications had a readership of more than 120 million and paid circulation of more than 40 million.
