ALERT: Processing Delays At Louisville, KY P&DC and Indianapolis, IN RPDC

From USPS: Following our September 14 update regarding the Louisville, KY Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC), customers may continue to experience package processing delays over the next few weeks as we install new package sorting equipment in the region.

Along with Louisville, equipment upgrades are underway at the Knoxville, TN P&DC and the Evansville, IN P&DF.To keep mail and packages moving through the region, these sites as well as Lexington, KY P&DC will flow some volume through the Nashville, TN P&DC and the Springdale, OH Annex.

As these installations are completed and operations stabilize, processing flows and transit times in and out of the region will improve. These upgrades are an important part of preparing our network for the upcoming peak holiday season.

Customers may continue to see originating processing scans in these facilities as changes take effect.

Indianapolis, IN Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC) Delays

The U.S. Postal Service is making adjustments to its processing equipment and operational flows in the Indianapolis, IN Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC). While we finalize these improvements over the next two to three weeks, customers may experience temporary delivery delays.

We are currently installing new package sorting machines for large, oversized volumes that were historically processed manually. Routing changes are also occurring to improve operational flows and cycle times into and out of the region. Hiring is progressing to add more team members to support these changes. Management support will be on site over the next few weeks as these changes take effect. These updates are critical to ensuring our network is fully prepared for the upcoming peak season.
