Reports of mail delays have figured into marketing by Citibank to convert paper statement customers to paperless.

In a mid-September email marketing effort with the headline “No Need To Wait For The Mail”, Citi pushes customers to go digital instead of paper.

“You may have recently heard about potential delays for US mail,” the email begins. “Fortunately, you can easily manage your account online to ensure faster delivery of your statements and payments.”
