Why Volume Is Growing Again, and Why Density Is the Rule of the Game Introduction

For fifteen years the USPS Marketing Mail story ran in one direction. Fiscal year 2026 broke the pattern.

In its third quarter results, announced August 7, 2026, USPS reported Marketing Mail revenue up $440 million, or 12.3 percent, on a volume increase of 574 million pieces, or 4.3 percent, versus the same quarter last year. That followed the first quarter in which volume rose 7.0 percent. Two growth quarters out of three, with volume and revenue rising together, is the healthiest signal this industry has produced in a long time.
