Industry Mourns Death of Jud Thurman
Business Manager of Gospel Minutes Publishing Was A Leader, Gentleman
FT WORTH, TX — Noted publisher and mailer Jud Thurman, CMDSM, CMDSS, MDC died July 24. He was 77 years old. Jud was a mentor, educator, and leader to many in the industry.

In 2025 he retired as Business Manager at Gospel Minutes Publications where he served for 40 years. Upon his retirement he was awarded the MAILCOM Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas. (click to read more)
“Jud was a dedicated and loyal member of the Mail Systems Management Association and a respected member of the mailing community,” said Floyd Creecy, MSMA Executive Director.
“Over the years, his commitment to our industry, willingness to remain engaged, and support of the professional organizations he valued demonstrated the kind of person Jud was. He understood that our industry is strengthened not simply by what we know, but by the relationships we build and the support we give to one another,” Creecy said.

Jud was a long‑time supporter of both the Dallas and Fort Worth PCC.
“Jud supported our PCCs for many years as a paid member and regularly attended our monthly meetings and PCC Day events. His presence, commitment, and friendship meant a great deal to many of us,” wrote Ronnie Ewers in a letter to PCC members.
“Jud has been in the mailing industry for over four decades holding numerous leadership positions in various trade associations on both the local and national levels,” said Lance Humphries, Managing Director of MAILCOM when giving Jud his Lifetime Achievement Award. “After forty years, he recently retired from his position as Business Manager with Gospel Minutes Publications in Ft Worth.”
