USPS Parcel Dimensioning Compliance with Prism System

Starting July 12, 2026, USPS will require commercial mailers to provide accurate parcel dimensions in shipping manifests for shipments.
The change is part of USPS’s broader effort to improve pricing accuracy and operational efficiency across parcel processing networks. While enforcement fees for non-compliance are scheduled to begin in early 2027, mailers will be expected to begin reporting compliant dimensions this summer.
For operations still relying on manual measurements, this creates a serious challenge. Measuring every parcel accurately and consistently takes time, introduces human error, and can slow down shipping workflows during peak periods.
