Postal Service Updates for March 2026 S&DC Activations
WASHINGTON, DC — The Postal Service will launch seven new sorting and delivery centers (S&DCs) serving the nation and will expand another two S&DCs in March 2026.
Three new S&DC sites are moving additional ZIP Codes to their space and opening March 7, 2026.
Four new S&DCs will open March 21, 2026, without additional 5-Digit ZIP Codes being moved into them and two existing S&DC sites are adding additional 5-Digit ZIP Codes on March 7, 2026.
These S&DCs are an integral part of the Postal Service’s Ten-Year Plan to Achieve Financial Sustainability and Service Excellence to create a best-in-class processing and delivery network. The S&DCs will revitalize the network of nearly 19,000 delivery units — the last stop for mail and packages before they are delivered by our carriers.
The Postal Service has targeted key markets where it is beneficial to aggregate delivery units into fewer, larger, centrally located S&DCs —leveraging both repurposed and new facilities —to simplify the entire network and create a more reliable and efficient Postal Service.
The schedules for the new S&DCs launches and S&DC expansion are listed below with the ZIP Codes™they will serve:

Commercial customers should drop their flat bundles or packages for drop shipment at the S&DC serving the respective destinating ZIP Codes. The opening of the new S&DCs will not impose Post Office closures or cause customers to experience changes to the local Post Office retail and PO Box delivery services.
