Arizona Supreme Court Evacuated; Package Tests Positive for Explosives

From Arizona’s Family: The Arizona Supreme Court building near downtown Phoenix was evacuated while authorities investigated a package that tested positive for explosive substances on Monday morning (1/5/26). Court officials said the situation began when staff found a suspicious package with no return label in the building’s mailroom, near 15th Avenue and Washington Street. Bernard Zapor, a retired ATF Special Agent in Charge, says anytime there is a threat or a suspicious package, authorities take the incident incredibly seriously. “From the time they showed up, it’s a device.
