BCC Software Announces Leadership Changes

New President Christopher O’Brien joins BCC Software, a BlueCrest Co. as Chris Lien Transitions to EVP Role

ROCHESTER, NY – Christopher O’Brien (left) has been named the new President of BCC Software effective June 29, 2021. He replaces Chris Lien, who has led BCC Software over the past twelve years.

The change caps the takeover of BCC by BlueCrest first announced in December 2020. BlueCrest is the former Pitney Bowes Production Mail division, which was acquired by Platinum Equity in 2018.

Prior to joining BCC Software, Christopher O’Brien was a senior leader with a strong background in mail and parcel processing automation. He spent the last eighteen years with Quadient (formerly Neopost) in various leadership positions, including Vice President of Sales, President of US Mailing, Executive Vice President of Business Processing Automation, Executive Vice President of Parcel Solution Management for North America, and Head of North America Business Process Automation.

“I am excited for and appreciative of the opportunity to lead BCC Software as President,” said Christopher O’Brien. “I look forward to building on the successes that the company has already achieved in its over 40-year history. In addition, having Chris Lien focused 100% on opportunities in the changing postal regulations, alongside the many passionate talented team members at BCC Software, enables us to focus on expanding our ‘How can we help?’ mantra.”

Lien (left) will be transitioning into a focused leadership position within the organization – the Executive Vice President of Postal Affairs. This change allows Lien to utilize his deep knowledge of the mail supply chain, postal governance, and relationships within USPS® while continuing to promote BCC Software solutions in the postal space.

“I am thrilled and honored to serve in this critical role,” said Chris Lien. “With so many changes in the mailing industry, including within the USPS, it is essential for our customers and partners that we stay focused and vigilant on the rapidly changing mail supply chain. In this role, I will leverage over 30 years of mailing industry knowledge through active participation in industry associations, and the Postmaster General’s Mailers Technical Advisory Committee where I continue to serve in an advisory role as a former industry elected chairman.”
