WOW: New Production Inserter Processes Flats, #10, And 6×9 Mail Simultaneously
Posted on May 9, 2018 by mailomg in Neopost DS-1200, Uncategorized // 0 Comments
Neopost demonstrated its latest production mail inserter at NPF, processing flats, #10 and 6×9 mail in-line simultaneously — at speeds of 12,000 envelopes an hour.
One word to describe it: Wow!
The fourth generation of the DS-1200 feeds and accumulates documents and then decides whether to insert finished collations into #10, 6.9″x9.5, or flat-sized envelopes. That decision can be made based on page count, document control marks or electronic file controls.
It processes up to 33,000 sheets an hour. And in full-format mode, it can insert up to 72 pages in flat-sized envelopes PLUS add up to eight additional inserts.
Watching it in operation, a manager of a financial services company remarked: “The market is coming to this kind of system, with volumes dropping and mailings becoming more complex. It’s amazing.”
Gone are the days of processing flats and letter mail on separate systems. And the computer-driven system provides complete security and full mailpiece integrity, using the Automated Insertion Management System.
