FedEx 4.9% Rate Hike In 2018; Holiday Surcharges Announced

FedEx rates go up 4.9% for most products beginning January 1, 2018, the company announced.

FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx SmartPost and FedEx Freight rates will increase. There are also changes to shipping surcharges and fees that may apply to shipments, including Holiday surcharges. All FedEx Retail Rates and FedEx One Rate pricing will also change.

The rate hikes include:

— FedEx Express package and freight standard list rates will increase an average of 4.9% for U.S., U.S. export and U.S. import services.

— FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery standard list rates will increase an average of 4.9%.

— FedEx Freight rates will increase by 4.9% on average, applicable to the FXF PZONE, FXF EZONE, FXF 1000, FXF 501, freight box and other related series base rates.

— FedEx One Rate pricing will increase by an average of 3.5%.

— Increased shipping surcharges during the 2017 Holiday Season will be in effect Nov. 20, 2017–Dec. 24, 2017. U.S. express package services and U.S. and international ground services will see an increase of $3 per package to $14 per package.
