Opiates Delivered By Mail From China On Rise

Since last summer Carfentanil — an opiate 10,000 times more powerful than morphine — has been arriving in the US from China through the mail system.

Carfentanil “normally comes in — we’re told — by the U.S. mail system, usually from China,” Ohio Sen. Rob Portman said. “Some laboratory in China producing it, and then shipping it to the United States by mail.”
