WASHINGTON, DC — The USPS 2025 Household Mail Survey report is now available. The Household Mail Survey is your inside look at the evolving role of mail in today’s households.

Funded by the United States Postal Service and conducted since 1987, this multi-year research study captures a comprehensive, real-world view of mail behavior across the nation. Each year, approximately 5,200 households participate – providing unmatched insight into how mail is sent, received and valued.

Participants confidentially track their mail activity over a one-week period, offering a detailed snapshot of real-life mail flow.

The Household Mail Study goes beyond the basics of delivering data that helps you:

Understand mail trends across industries and sectors
Gain visibility into mail class usage and content types
Explore household attitudes toward mail
Leverage demographic insights to better target your audience

Data collection for the 2026 study is currently underway, with the next report scheduled for release in March 2027.
