Printers Amazed At Small Format Digital Color Press

Kirk-Rudy FireJet

Printers attending the Printing United event last week raved about the Kirk-Rudy FireJet 4c digital color printer, seeing it as an alternative to tabletop envelope color printers and high-end production color inkjet presses.

The FireJet’s 12 3/4 inch printhead lets it print transactional documents, envelopes, and more with the inkjet quality of presses that cost 20 times more. FireJet prints in full color (CMYK) at 1600 x 1600 dpi at speeds up to 150 ft/min.

The FireJet’s Memjet technology features aqueous pigment inks, which means the printed image is more durable in a larger range of substrates. It can print on cardboard, napkins, bags, thick stocks, coasters, etc … (click to read more)
