Oroville Dam Evacuation Hits Mail Delivery

Several Post Offices are closed due to mandatory evacuations
SACRAMENTO DISTRICT — Mandatory evacuations of nearly 200,000 residents have been imposed in eight California counties after a hole in an emergency spillway at the Oroville Dam threatened to flood the surrounding area. These evacuations are impacting a number of post offices.
“We have delivery issues in the area due to the evacuations” said Ashleigh Rodriguez, Manager of Post Office Operations for Sacramento District. “But we are making every attempt to get mail delivered where conditions are safe.”
The following post offices are closed due to the mandatory evacuations:

Yuba City Post Office 95991
Marysville Post Office 95901
Gridley Post Office 95948
Live Oak Post Office 95953
Biggs Post Office 95917
Olivehurst Post Office 95961
Palermo Post Office 95968
Rio Oso 95674
The Sacramento District serves ZIP Codes 936-938, 942, 952, 953 and 956-960 in northern California.
