Digital Mail Pioneer, Consultant Jeff Jordan Dies

Jeffrey Jordan, an industry leader who was early pioneer implementing digital mail at Wells Fargo, has died. An obituary has not yet been posted. Jordan was currently serving as a Senior Consultant at The Berkshire Company. He appeared on the October 2004 cover of MAIL Magazine after converting Wells Fargo’s analog incoming mail into part of a digital network — one of the first of its kind in the nation.

News of his death came in a post from Mark Fallon, President of The Berkshire Company:

“The Berkshire Company is sorry to share the sad news of the passing of our friend and partner, Jeffrey Jordan.

“Jeff began his career in 1982 as a mail operations associate for Norwest Bank, which later became Wells Fargo. He managed multiple units, including Mail Services, Proxy Services, Data Maintenance, Check Replacements, and Lost Securities. In 2007, Jeff was promoted to Assistant Vice President at Wells Fargo Shareowner Services.
Jeff was known as an innovative and adroit manager. Decades before it became mainstream, Jeff introduced imaging in the mail center, delivering digital mail to employees across the enterprise. He held his vendors to the highest standards of accountability.

“In 2013, Jeff joined The Berkshire Company as a Senior Consultant. His postal knowledge and industry expertise added value to our customers and their projects. What most clients will remember is his humor and good nature.

“Jeff lived his values of genuine concern for others. Friends always remarked on his authentic and nonjudgemental support. For years, he volunteered for the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, spending his vacations building homes for people in need. Putting others first was second nature.

“Jeff leaves behind a loving family, who we will keep in our thoughts.

“We will miss our friend.”
