STAMFORD, CT – Pitney Bowes announced the opening of a new 55,000 square foot Presort Services Operating Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The new highly automated facility, located at 6792 West 700 N, processed 400,000 pieces of First-Class Mail on its inaugural day and is expected to process an average of one million pieces per day as soon as this fall.

“Pitney Bowes is always looking for better ways to serve our clients and improve the performance of our Presort Services network,” said Debbie Pfeiffer, President, Pitney Bowes Presort Services (pictured). “We are pleased to bring this new facility and all of its innovative capabilities to mailers throughout the greater Salt Lake City Valley and throughout the West.”

Pitney Bowes entered the Salt Lake City market in a major way in October 2022 with the acquisition of the presort assets of Skymail International, a full-service print and mail house. The two companies have operated out of the same building at 1476 3600 W for most of the past year as Pitney Bowes substantially grew mail volumes, added new clients, and hired additional employees ahead of the move to its new, larger and more highly automated location. An open house for current and prospective clients is being planned for November.

The new operating center is part of a regional mail exchange anchored by the company’s 175,000 square foot Presort Services Mega Center, which opened in Las Vegas, Nevada in early 2022. Pitney Bowes Presort Services is the largest workshare partner of the USPS®, helping mailers of all sizes capture measurable postage savings while simplifying the complexity of sending mail and parcels. In 2022, Pitney Bowes presorted nearly 16 billion pieces of mail and parcels.
